Krabi Region
Krabi is the capital of a province on the west coast of southern Thailand. Tourism has become the most important feature of Krabi today. The action of one of the most important books written in Europe lately takes place in Krabi (Michel Houellebecq, The Platform).
Krabi is popular thanks to splendid beaches, views and limestone rocks and islands. Featured natural and cultural attractions are cave temples: Wat Tum Sua (Tiger Cave Temple) or Wat Tum Sang Phet (Diamond Cave Temple), shell cemetery, and numerous natural parks (Khao Phanom Bencha and Than Bokk-horani). Two beautiful islands are located in Krabi proximity: small Koh Lanta Yai and famous Koh Phi-Phi, maybe one of the most spectacular islands of Asia.

Nightlife in Krabi is present however much less developed than in Patong Beach on Phuket, just 2 or 3 hours of travel by bus or by boat.
