Cheap Flights to Thailand & Phuket

Cheap Flights to Phuket from Europe:

  • Air Berlin (over 50 connections from almost all countries in Europe)
  • Condor (over 50 connections from almost all countries in Europe)
  • Thomas Cook (only from Amsterdam and Brussels)
  • XL (only from Paris)

There are only 4 cheap airlines operating this season directly to Phuket. Thomas Cook and XL are of less importance. The cheapest and available from almost all Europe is Air Berlin. Planes depart from Berlin, Munich or Dusseldorf usually, you need to transfer in one of these cities if you go from Warsaw, Stockholm, Milan or Paris or any other German city. If you are lucky you can find return ticket for less than 300 euro all including. Just a moment ago I’ve found a return ticket for January/February 2011 for less than 500 euro which is the normal price.

Condor has a little bit more extend net of connections, Lisbon or UK including. Round trip from Heatrow for the same period of time is however much more expensive, over 1,000 euro. Some regular airlines have cheaper promotions to Thailand.

Check any China or Malaysian connections to Bangkok first. Quantas, Finair or Thai airlines have sometimes good promotions on this direction.

Here is the list of many other cheap connections to Phuket airport from different places of the world:

Jetstar:

  • Australia: Adelaide (ADL), Brisbane (BNE), Gold Coast (OOL), Hobart (HBA), Melbourne (MEL) & (AVV), Perth (PER), Sydney (SYD)
  • New Zealand: Christchurch (CHC)
  • Singapore (SIN)

Air Asia:

  • Thailand: Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Chiang Mai (CNX), Udon Thani (UTH)
  • Indonesia: Jakarta (CGK),
  • Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur (KUL),

  • Hong Kong (HKG)

Tiger Airways:

  • Australia: Perth (PER)
  • Singapore (SIN)

Also these airlines fly to Phuket:

  • S7 from Russia
  • Fire Fly from Malaysia
  • Nok Air and Orient Thai Airlines from Bangkok

If you are not travelling from Europe or Australia the easiest way is to find a connection to Bangkok and fly with Air Asia form Bangkok or any other big East Asian city. Air Asia is the absolute top as to the low prices of air tickets and has the densest net of connections in this part of the world. They are somehow similar to Ryanair in Europe.

Cheap Flights to Thailand

Cheap airlines operating to Thailand in general are the same as airlines operating to Phuket (above) or Pattaya. Flights to Bangkok: Jetstar from Australia, Air Asia from Far East, Air Berlin from Europe, and S7 from Russia. There are also some smaller airlines like Tiger or Cebu Pacific.

Cheap Holidays to Thailand

There is a general misunderstanding about holidays to Thailand. The offer doesn’t meet the client’s expectations, there is a niche market waiting to be discovered. There are two characteristics of the market gap between the offered and the expected. First of all Thailand is the main tourist destination for single men. It’s very well known that the Land of Smiles is the sexual paradise for millions of men going there for love. Many of them marry Thai women and stay there forever. The offer of all tourist operators doesn’t reach this target group, the offers target couples. The second big gap is the price. If you are a single and you wish to visit Thailand for the first time in your life then don’t buy any cheap holidays packages. Just don’t do it. You’ll pay much less if you chose one of the cheap flights described above and pay for a regular hotel in any place in Thailand. You don’t need to book any luxurious hotel there, it is nonsense simply. The hotel base in Thailand is very large, there’s no need to book a hotel in Pattaya or Phuket in advance. Buying a cheap ticket and travelling to Phi-Phi on your own you’ll pay about half price of what you’ll pay to any tour operator.
